Sitting here having owned this as a habitat for my coastal for roughly 2.5 years (delivered/assembled mid 2021, writing this in Jan 2024). I'm teetering on purchasing another one within the next few months. With the HDPE upgrade, two moves across three times zones have been smooth and combined with wear and tear from heat and humidity repeatedly no damage has been incurred to this cage. The health of my python has only improved, he utilizes the entire height of the terrarium. Heavy and built to last. Remember that curing silicone will stink up a room for 12-24 hours! Have a partner with you during assembly, it's straightforward but you probably don't have four arms.
"When I began to look for an enclosure, I called a few places. I ended up choosing this 6'x2'x3' from maximum reptiles based upon the friendly service rep who took the time to answer all my questions. She also continued to answer all my questions I asked while waiting four weeks to ship. I choose the ACRE panels as it looked more like wood furniture that could be stained to match our decor. The steel frame is really sturdy and can support several hundred pounds with ease. Even though I was not given the correct assembly instructions (received the 3 or 4 foot) I was able to figure it out very easily. Strongly recommend a rubber mallet as it will make pounding in the pieces easy and without damaging the material. Overall it took me about 2 hours by myself to assemble the enclosure, stand and light cover. After that you will still have to wait 24-48 for the silicone to cure and vapors gone before placing a reptile in. Pro's: Light weight, good looking, sturdy, holds heat and humidity extremely well, water proof, pre cut template for heat lamps, UVB lamps and plant lamps. Con's: Needs better instructions for less experienced home doers, no door handles, lock tends to scratch doors. I wish they also had an option or upgrade to glass instead of the plexiglass. Long lead time.
A well designed enclosure for progressive reptile keepers. With huge future potential due to it's frame style build. Look forward to seeing what they come up with in the future.
Happy with this purchase. Pros: I am confident it will hold up for the life of my Boa Imperator. If I move, it is light enough to be handled easily with two people. Cage came with all the seals and a seal installation tool, but a rubber mallet is highly recommended for putting it together. Wish I could attach a picture to this review because it looks great! I also got two ferns and tall grasses with my order and these are very nice quality. Cons: I may eventually upgrade the front doors to glass as the poly doors bend a bit and are a little hard to keep clean. I mounted the door lock in the middle (height wise) to prevent my boa from prying thru the door gap, but I will also add some weatherstripping to block the gap and prevent the lock from scratching the doors.
